This role is to oversee the analytical strategy development and deployment process on behalf of clients. Quality and repeatability are important elements of this role.
You’ll be developing analytical strategies, overseeing experiment design, implementation and testing for myriad clients. You combine strong technical skills in a diverse set of technologies (SQL, Python, R, SAS, Tableau, D3 and other) with the leadership skills and compassion to lead a team.
This is a remote position where you’ll be in contact with your team and clients via chat, email, phone and video conference. If you’re in the US then you may be asked to do occasional travel to client sites for kickoff meetings, presentations and deliverables.
This position is contract and contract to hire.
Lead an Analytics Team in client deliverables by seeing the analytics cycle from end-to-end beginning with analytical strategy and experiment design through data visualization and communication. You’ll inspire the other team members to do creative and meaningful work, expand their skills and deliver for clients and the team.
Manage the work of the team’s data analysts
Work with a large volume of data, linking databases and data sets, to effectively inform clients
Implement a full range of data analysis including developing research methodology, implementing appropriate statistical techniques, managing a number of projects, and processing and reporting on data accurately
Adapt freeware solutions such as R, and modular solutions for maximum flexibility
Produce both technical and informal writings about data and the analysis
Troubleshoot data inconsistencies within projects, administrative and scientific data sets, and workflow
Develop and deliver knowledge transfer to clients and other team members as needed
Qualities we look for:
BA/BS or MS/MBA desired
Minimum 2-3 years experience in data science as an internal team lead or as a consultant
Strong written, verbal and visual presentation skills
Proven ability to apply quantitative and analytical skills to solve real world problems
Experience with building data products using open source programming languages, including Python, R, KNIME and ElasticSearch
Proven ability to influence and lead a cross functional team
Strong project management and performance management skills
